The gymnasium, in 1901, was described as "a splendid apartment, with nearly 3500 square feet of floor space, a height of 21 feet in the center, and 16 feet at the sides, with plenty of light and ventilation. It [was] fitted with all the necessary apparatus of the very best description and quality, and a competent instructor. The excellent effect of the daily regular exercise upon the muscular development of the scholars and their general health has been shown in many instances most conspicuously." - 1901 Year Book
