Beginning classes in 1709 in the belfry of Trinity Church Wall St. to various rented schoolhouses in lower and mid-Manhattan, Trinity's masters and scholars finally settled on West 91st St. in 1895.
In 1893, the School's newspaper, the Acta Diurna announced plans for the new Trinity School building. Designed by Charles C. Haight the building was estimated to cost $175,000.
