St. Agnes Chapel was erected in 1892 as part of missionary work of Trinity Church Wall St.  With declining membership and strained finances, St. Agnes eventually proved an opportunity for Trinity School to expand.  In 1942, the Trinity Church Vestry approved Trinity's proposal to rent-with-option-to-buy, assuming all costs, and without restrictions on future use.  When Trinity School took over in 1943, Headmaster Dann moved swiftly with demolition plans that were approved, however reluctantly, by Trinity Church Vestry. Before it was demolished, Trinity School used the Chapel weekly for its war memorial services from 1943-1944.
